If it does not put money into circulation, does not carry out double-voting and does not intimidate voters, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will be unable to pass the 5-percent threshold to enter Parliament.

Ex-Foreign Minister and opposition Consolidation Party Chairman Vartan Oskanian, who is third on Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanian (ORO) Bloc’s proportional representation list for the forthcoming parliamentary election in the country, on Monday said the abovementioned at an assembly with voters in Aragatsotn Province.

“It’s apparent that the ruling [political] force doesn’t have enough votes to form a coalition government, let alone to continue to rule by itself,” stated the ex-FM.

Oskanian noted that the RPA may garner 30 percent of the votes at best, and this will enable to send this political force to the opposition.

“But we know that they will do everything to amass a high number [of votes],” he said.

Also, he called on to use the current Constitution—which, according to him, was adopted with fraud—against the incumbent authorities.

“The Constitution provides this opportunity,” added Vartan Oskanian. “Let’s use this constitution to take the power away from their hands.”

The ORO bloc comprises former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, and ex-FMs Raffi Hovannisian and Vartan Oskanian.

The parliamentary election in Armenia will be conducted on April 2.
