YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Monday visited Alex Textile Company.

Sargsyan toured the production units of this company, and got familiarized with the investments, expansion of production capacity, works aimed at equipping the units with modern facilities, export volumes, and development programs of the company.

Alex Textile, which started its operations in 2015 and manufactures socks and clothing and is a leading Armenian company in light industry, currently employs 500 workers.

According to its management, however, as a result of increased production, the number of jobs there will reach 2,000.

The President of Armenia was informed that in 2017, the company has already created nearly 300 jobs in its new sewing unit.

Also this year, Alex Textile plans to start the production of fabric, textile, and home textile, which will enable creating additional 600 jobs.
