Armenia’s newly appointed ambassador to Russia, Vardan Tokhanyan, believes that Yerevan is developing its relations with both Moscow and Brussels with dynamism.

Responding, at Wednesday’s Moscow-Yerevan videoconference, to a query on Armenia-West relations in the case when “the Russian side is inclined towards an ‘either… or…policy,’” the diplomat stated: “I’m not familiar with such a policy. There is, and was, no such thing at least in the case of Armenia’s foreign policy. Our relations are quite harmonious.

“Yesterday, Yerevan initialed an agreement [i.e. the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA)] with the EU; this bespeaks the dynamic development of relations.”
