YEREVAN. – The Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, Vahan Martirosyan, on Monday received Mircea Ciopraga, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat Staff of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (PS IGC TRACECA).

The minister underscored the further promotion of economic cooperation within the framework of this international transport corridor, the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Martirosyan added that Armenia stands ready to assist the TRACECA-member countries in joining the signed agreements.

The interlocutors discussed multimodal transport—also known as combined transport, is the transportation of goods under a single contract, but with at least two different means of transport—and the prospects for its development.

Ciopraga, for his part, informed that the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission is willing to accept the Armenian side’s recommendations on the avenues for the development of economic and transport links with the member countries.
