Berdan Öztürk, an MP of the opposition pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) of Turkey, was detained at Istanbul Atatürk Airport.

A warrant had been issued for Öztürk’s detention, and therefore police detained him immediately at the airport, upon his return from London, according to Demokrathaber website of Turkey.

Turkish law enforcement, however, did not provide details in connection with the MP’s custody.
