The sanctions imposed on Qatar by the Arabic states may last for years.

Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Anwar Qarqash stated the aforementioned on Monday, hinting that the Gulf countries are not going to weaken the sanctions against Doha in the near future, Reuters reports.

''Qatar should understand that this is the new state of affairs and the isolation may last for years,'' Qarqash noted.

''If they want to be isolated due to their distorted views on politics, let it be so. They (Qatar) are still in the stage of fury and denial.'' In his words, the list of demands to Qatar will be completed in the coming days.

Overall, 10 countries, including seven Arabic states severed their diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism. Doha denies all the charges.
