The dislocation of Bundeswehr subunits from the Tukrish Incirlik military base will start in July.

German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said in an interview with Bild am Sonntag.

In her words, the entire process of the dislocation to a new base in Jordan will take about three months. The minister also informed that the flight plan within the framework of the anti-terrorist coalition, which will cover the period until the end of June, has already been approved, following which “our tanker will be taken to Jordan within a shorter period.”

Von der Leyen also noted that the dislocation to the new base will interrupt the Bundeswehr mission in the Middle East for certain time. The troops will be dislocated in the new base only by mid-July, the dislocation of heavy artillery requiring more time.
