YEREVAN. – Despite the difficult start of the Eurasian Union which was related to global economic situation, we can state the overcoming of negative tendencies, Armenian official said.

Speaking at round table “Republic of Armenia: two years in Eurasian Union. First results”, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Harutyunyan noted that the turnover with other countries, except Russia, is not that high.

The Armenian minister said that integration with the third states, out of Eurasian Union, is very important. As an example, he cited the signing of an agreement with Vietnam. The document with Iran can become an example, too.

“This will be a major step to advance economic interests in the region,” Harutyunyan noted.

According to him, the issue should be considered in a wider format. The deputy minister also emphasized importance of promoting the Silk Road project.

He noted that a lot has been achieved during these two years but there are issues that require attention.
