YEREVAN. - The situation on the contact line between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces is calm at the moment, Spokesman for the Defense Ministry of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page Friday.

“The situation is relatively calm at the moment. As we have already informed, different types of artillery have been used since the morning. Follow the statements of the Artsakh Defense Army,” he wrote.

According to the statement issued earlier by the Artsakh Defense Army, the adversary is violating the ceasefire along the line of contact between the Karabakh and Azerbaijani opposing forces ever since Friday morning, and by firing from shooting weapons, cannons, mortars, and grenade launchers.

As a result of shelling by the Azerbaijani armed forces, Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Defense Army servicemen Robert Gasparyan (born in 1969), Hambardzum Hartyunyan (born in 1997), and Vahe Badalyan (born in 1998) have sustained wounds, the NKR Ministry of Defense informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Artsakh defense army vanguard units, however, are taking actions in response to suppress the aggressive “activeness” by the adversary.
