Egyptian Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek ordered on Tuesday to initiate legal investigations regarding Friday's knife attack at a hotel in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada killed two German tourists, RIA Novosti reported quoting МЕНА.

The attacker will be taken to Cairo, where he will be interrogated by investigators of the State Security Prosecutor's Office. Previously, the suspect was interrogated by police officers in the province of the Red Sea.

A man armed with a knife attacked foreign tourists in one of the hotels in Hurghada, Egypt. Two German nationals were killed and other four women, including two Armenian nationals, were wounded.

The attacker who was arrested by police was later identified as 28-year-old Abdul Rahman Shams Shaaban.

Some Egyptian media outlets said he was supporter of ISIS ideology and lived according to Sharia law. Others say the reason for the attack was an argument.
