The 12th session of the CIS Information Council started in Yerevan today.

The CIS Information Council was set up in 1996 in accordance with the agreement on creation of council of heads of state news agencies which was singed by CIS leaders in 1995.

Numerous issues, including creation of an Internet website of the CIS, prospects of joint work of the press centers, new cooperation opportunities in information field are on the agenda.

Representatives of Azerbaijan refused to participate in the Yerevan meeting that will last till December 16.
