The statement issued by the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for the media notes that Damascus has sent two letters to the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General requiring measures be taken to stop the “war crimes” by the US-led international coalition, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

On November 11, the coalition warplanes had launched airstrikes on a village on the border with Iraq, in the Deir Ezzor Governorate of Syria, and ten civilians were killed as a result.

In the statement, the Syrian foreign ministry stressed that the coalition’s actions are aimed at creating obstacles for the Syrian army and its allies in the fight against ISIS.
