Jeffrey Feltman, a senior official at the United Nations and a former U.S. diplomat, will visit North Korea for four days, the United Nations announced Monday.

Starting Tuesday, Feltman will meet a number of North Korean officials, including foreign minister Ri Yong Ho, as well as foreign diplomats and U.N. staff, spokeswoman Eri Kaneko said.

The trip was arranged after the United Nations received an invitation from North Korea.

Feltman, who is the UN under-secretary-general for political affairs, will discuss "issues of mutual interest and concern" with North Korean officials, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said.
