Russian President Vladimir Putin can announce his intention to run in the upcoming presidential elections any time, said spokesperson for Russian President Dmitry Peskov, Lenta reported.

“We should be ready any time. I do not know when he makes such a decision, but he can announce his intention to run in elections any time,” said Peskov in reply to the rumors that Putin intends to announce his candidacy on December 6 at the Russian Volunteer Forum.

Presidential elections will be held in March 2018, the election campaign should start in December. TV hosts Ksenia Sobchak and Ekaterina Gordon, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the chairman of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov and businessman Sergey Polonsky have announced their intention to participate in the elections.
