Honda has signed a five-year agreement with the Chinese start-up SenseTime to develop and improve the artificial intelligence for autonomous cars, World Honda reported.

According to the source, the cooperation with SenseTime entails the use of SenseTime’s moving object recognition technologies and Honda’s AI algorithms for scene understanding, risk prediction and action planning.

The cooperation will not be limited to automated driving. The two companies plan to cooperate in areas such as robotics.
According to TechCrunch, the capitalization of SenseTime totaled $ 1 billion.

Earlier, Honda introduced Sports EV Concept and Urban EV Concept, equipped with autopilot and artificial intelligence. The production versions of the concepts will appear in 2020 and 2019 respectively.
