YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet session of the government of Armenia, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan gave instructions toward increasing the effectiveness of the current anticorruption strategy and the need for a new respective strategy in the country. 

In the PM’s words, several measures have been taken ever since 2015, when the Anticorruption Strategy of Armenia was adopted.

“And at this phase, measures need to be taken to develop a new ambitious anticorruption strategy, simultaneously introducing the mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of the new strategy and assessing the results,” said Karapetyan, in particular. “Civil society representatives, businessmen, lawyers, scientists, and other stakeholders should be included as much as possible in the work on developing the new document.”
