Austrian President Alexander van der Bellen on Monday administered the oath to a new coalition government of the republic, consisting of conservatives and rightists, RIA Novosti reports.

The ceremony took place in the imperial palace Hofburg.

The former Foreign Minister of the Republic Sebastian Kurtz became the chancellor of Austria.

Last Friday, the Austrian People's Party, led by Sebastian Kurtz and the Austrian Freedom Party, led by Heinz-Christian Strache finished the negotiations on the formation of the government. On Saturday, party leaders presented candidates for ministerial posts.
