Thirty-five years old Mexican journalist Gumaro Perez was killed in the Mexican state of Veracruz, Reuters reported.

The journalist was shot four times during his son's Christmas celebration at school.

Journalists’ group Association, to which Perez belong, was waiting to hang over the body to the family. The association may also initiate an investigation.

According to Reuters, Perez conducted investigations on drug trafficking in the country.

According to Reporters Without Borders organization, Mexico remains one of the most dangerous countries for journalists. Since 2010, at least 111 media workers have been killed, 38 of them have been killed since Enrique Pena Nieto became president in December 2012.
