YEREVAN. – Unless they have obtained citizenship of another country by no later than November 28, 1995, former Armenian SSR citizen ethnic Armenians who live in other countries shall from now on be considered Republic of Armenia (RA) citizens according to their application, and not by the force of law, after receiving an RA citizenship passport. In this case, they will be considered RA citizens as of November 28, 1995.

Mnatsakan Bichakhchyan, Head of the Passport and Visa Department of the Police of Armenia, informed about the abovementioned on his Facebook page.

He added that the respective amendments to the law on RA citizenship have come into force on January 6.
