The Iraqi authorities estimated the damage caused by the war against the ISIS at $100 billion and hoped to reconstruct the affected areas in 10 years, the Iraqi government spokesman, Saad al-Hadith told RIA Novosti.

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi announced the end of the war against the ISIS in December 2017.

According to him, the Ministry of Planning worked over three to four weeks to calculate the damage areas carried out and submitted a study that was adopted by the Council of Ministers.

Iraqi authorities have estimated the necessary amounts to restore government institutions, infrastructure, services sector and public buildings in the country, noted the minister.

The government expected to work with $100 billion for 19 years within the framework of the adopted document for the gradual restoration of these areas, a government official said.

The Iraqi military liberated the second largest city of the country, Mosul, from the ISIS in 2017, as well as a number of others cities, including the western province of Anbar on the border with Syria.
