The Constitutional Court of Turkey has reached a verdict in the case into the arrests of journalists Mehmet Altan and Şahin Alpay.

The court on Thursday ruled to release jailed Altan and Alpay, saying their rights had been violated, according to Hürriyet (Liberty) newspaper of Turkey.

These journalists are accused of being members of US-based Turkish Muslim cleric Fethullah Gülen’s network, whom Ankara accuses of masterminding the 2016 coup attempt in Turkey.

To note, Mehmet Altan is one of the Turkish journalists who recognize Armenian Genocide.
