YEREVAN. - The main Christmas tree of Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, is 16 years old.

Even though this tree—which is installed each year at Republic Square—is assembled from different branches, its design is unchanged, and solely its decoration changes over the course of years.

The tradition of installing a Christmas tree at Republic Square had begun in Soviet times.

In 1950, however, the main Christmas tree of Armenia was small, but it was a one complete tree.

Below we present the photos of Yerevan’s main Christmas tree that was installed from 2002 to 2018.
