YEREVAN.- The attitude of the Armenian delegation to PACE  towards the new president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Michele Nicoletti is positive, head of the Armenian delegation, Arpine Hovhannisyan told Armenian News - NEWS.am on Monday.

"He is appointed as an impartial man of principle not only for the Armenian delegation, but also for the other delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly," she said, adding that the Armenian delegation has no expectations of national interests, but, in general, expects that the elected  President will continue PACE's previous practice.

Earlier it was reported that Michele Nicoletti has been elected the president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe during the winter session that opened in Strasbour on Monday.

He will serve for a one-year term, which can be renewed once.

Nicoletti will replace Stella Kyriakides from Cyprus who was heading PACE during the previous session.
