YEREVAN. – Within the framework of the 48th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan of Armenia on Thursday met with Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (United Arab Emirates).

Karapetyan presented the process of reforms in Armenia, and which are aimed at improving the investment climate and creating a more favorable business environment, Press Office of the Government of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Also, he thanked Mrs. Al Qasimi for the renovation program her family implemented several years ago at Haghartsin Monastic Complex of Armenia.

In turn, Bodour Al Qasimi noted that Armenia is viewed as an interesting market and a good platform for accessing some other major markets. Al Qasimi said she was impressed with Armenia’s cultural heritage and was glad that her company had contributed to the restoration of one of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia.

Karen Karapetyan’s next meeting was with John Beck, founder and President and Chief Executive Officer of Aecon Group Inc. (Canada).

The Premier presented the reforms implemented and the business opportunities available in Armenia, as well as a number of public and private partnership-based projects that could be of interest to the Canadian company.

Beck, for his part, noted that Armenia is interesting as a developing country with great potential, and that they will consider all the proposed projects and the chances of participating in them.

Completing its visit to Switzerland, the Armenian delegation, led by PM Karen Karapetyan, has returned to capital city Yerevan.
