YEREVAN. – The number of road accidents last year increased in Armenia by 10.4% up to 3,535, the Emergency Situations Ministry official Hovhannes Khangeldyan told reporters on Friday.

According to him, 279 people were killed and another 5,179 were injured in road accidents last year. The number of traffic accidents in the regions has increased considerably.

 Hovhannes Khangeldyan noted that there were 10 railway accidents in 2017 and eight water accidents, during which 14 people were saved.
