YEREVAN. – A man was found dead Saturday at a hotel in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

At around 9։30am, the ambulance service called the police informing that they were dispatched to a hotel complex, where they had found the dead body of a man.

According to shamshyan.com, Yerevan resident Gor Arakelyan, 33, was found dead in the bedroom of a room of this hotel. 

Arakelyan is the son-in-law of former MP Karo Karapetyan.

Several years ago, he was sentenced to prison for firing shots and inflicting gunshot wounds to several people at Vernissage—a large open-air market that mainly features a collection of traditional Armenian art works, and primarily for tourists—in downtown Yerevan.

According to preliminary forensic medical conclusion, no traces of violence were found on the body.

Several examinations have been commissioned. 

The said hotel complex belongs to well-known businessman MP, Samvel Aleksanyan.

Gor Arakelyen was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for the aforementioned shootings in Vernissage, but he was released on a presidential pardon.
