Turkish police detained 311 people over the past week for campaigning against the operation of the Turkish Armed Forces in Syrian Afrin, the Turkish authorities said on Monday.

The report said 311 people were detained during the past week on charges of promoting terrorism in connection with the operation in Afrin, RIA Novosti reports.

It is also noted that during the last week 28 terrorists were neutralized in Turkey, one of which was destroyed, six surrendered and 21 were detained. One of the detainees, Demet Tashar, was listed as a member of the ISIS.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Turkey announced the beginning of Olive Branch operation against the formation of Kurds in Syrian Afrin on January 20.
