YEREVAN. – Overall, 90 road accidents were registered in Armenia from December 31, 2017 to January 7,  2018.

Twelve people died and 149 people were injured in road accidents, police said in response to an inquiry by Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Eighteen drivers who got into the road accident were drunk. For the specified period, 72 reports on driving in a state of intoxication were made in total. Eighty-eight vehicles were sent to the penalty areas.

According to the police, in the period from 1 to 5 January 2015, 51 road accidents were registered in the republic, resulting in the death of 4 people and injuries of 76.
