The law criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide will receive a new dimension in France in 2018, said co-chair of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France Murad Papazian.

According to him, CCAF will take an active part in the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Republic, May victories and the Summit of La Francophonie, to be held in Yerevan in 2018.

“The priority will be the promotion of the draft law criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide, which will take place in a completely new light, as we have acquired new allies as President Emmanuel Macron and new parliamentarians,” said Murad Papazian.

The Karabakh conflict remains among other priority issues, said Papazian.

“French Armenian community intends to hold rallies, organize lectures and educational events,” the co-chair of the Council said.

He noted that the plan of events had already been discussed with President Macron at the annual CCAF dinner.
