Two ethnic Armenians were injured in a mortar shelling of Damascus, the local diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church said on Facebook.

Brother and sister – Loris and Hakob Demirchyans – were transported to the hospital thanks to the efforts of the local Armenians.

Two civilians were killed and 13 others were injured on Monday due to shelling attacks by armed groups which targeted Damascus and its countryside, SANA reported.

Overall, 60-70 thousands Armenians were residing in Syria before the bloody events. More than half of them lived in Aleppo and the other half was scattered in the cities of Latakia, Homs, Al-Qamishli, Hasaka, Raqqah, Kessab and, of course, the capital - Damascus.
