A traditional annual New Year reception was held in Yerevan on February 8.

The event, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Armenia, was attended by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Papikyan, MPs, political scientists, representatives of the Chinese Embassy.

Greeting the guests, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Armenia Tian Erlong wished a Happy New Year. The Ambassador stressed that last year was very important from the point of view of developing relations between China and Armenia. 

"The countries have celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. On the basis of traditional friendship between our people we hope to strengthen cooperation in various areas," Tian Erlong noted.

The ambassador expressed hope that in the new year relations will develop even more against the backdrop of the "One Belt, One Way" initiative, which will bring new opportunities for further promotion of cooperation. The ambassador also said that last year a record trade turnover between the countries was registered: more than $ 600 million.

In his turn, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Armen Papikyan noted that the relations between the countries reached a qualitatively new level, and also the agreements reached by the presidents of the two countries are being successfully implemented.
