YEREVAN. – By the decision of chairman Ara Babloyan of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia and on the initiative of MPs, an NA special session will be convened on February 16, and on the agenda specified by the initiators of this sitting. 

The NA’s opposition “Way Out” Faction had launched a signature campaign to convene a special parliamentary session. The opposition “Tsarukyan” Faction also had joined this signature campaign, and as a result, the 27 signatures needed to hold this special sitting were collected.

The agenda of this NA special session will be the recent amendments made to the Tax Code, especially the income tax changes that have led to price hikes in Armenia.
