YEREVAN. – Azerbaijani authorities are not interested in a new large-scale war in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).

Political scientist and former deputy foreign minister of Armenia, Ambassador Arman Navasardyan, stated the above-said at a press conference on Friday.

In his words, several European countries have allocated Azerbaijan a $4bn investment for the construction of a transatlantic natural gas pipeline.

At the same time, Navasardyan noted that Azerbaijan does not have real possibilities for launching a large-scale war in Karabakh, since the aforesaid gas pipeline may be damaged as a result.

The analyst stressed that in the case of a military strike toward this gas pipeline, Azerbaijan will have to pay damages—at its own expense—for the money that was allocated for the construction of this pipeline

“And this hinders them [the Azerbaijanis] from resuming large-scale military actions against Karabakh,” he added.

At the same time, as per Arman Navasardyan, Azerbaijan’s foreign policy has suffered a major failure, overall.
