Lebanon has sent a complaint to the UN Security Council, accusing Israel of violating its sovereignty.

According to the statement of the country's Foreign Ministry, Beirut condemned Israel for using Lebanon's airspace to launch missile attacks against Syria, TASS reported quoting Al Wataniya.

"Lebanon warns Israel against the continuation of such actions, which undermine stability in the Middle East region," the document stresses.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry also requests friendly states to "influence Israel and force them to abandon aggressive actions." At the same time, the statement confirms "the legitimate right of neighboring Syria to defend itself against Israeli attacks."
