Azerbaijan’s attempts to obstruct the development of Artsakh’s parliamentary cooperation with foreign countries are having short-term results.

Chairman of the Republic of Artsakh National Assembly (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR NA), Ashot Ghulyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am, when asked about these attempts by Azerbaijan.

“Because, on the whole, it’s hard to curtail the methods and opportunities for the development of relations, especially in the system of interparliamentary relations,” said the Artsakh NA speaker. “I believe there will be no such second state in the world that allows itself the cynicism to curtail the opportunities of the parliament of another state.”

In his words, there are countries—at the level of European states—that have very good indicators in terms of awareness of parliamentary relations with the NKR.

“Even if Azerbaijan succeeds in influencing at some point, not for long, since such methods can’t be acceptable to the parliaments of civilized states,” Ghulyan stressed. “The value-system, freedom of movement, protecting human rights, which European countries are faithful to, has nothing to do with Azerbaijan, and its efforts can’t support.”
