YEREVAN.- Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan visited on Tuesday the Armenian Ministry of Diaspora to get acquainted with the results of  2017 events, as well as the activities planned for 2018.

Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan informed that the Ministry has faced three strategic challenges in 2017: to promote the preservation of the Armenian identity, cooperating with Diaspora organizations and spiritual organizations, to promote the identification and consolidation of the Armenian potential for the economic development of Armenia and Artsakh and also to develop the programs promoting repatriation of compatriots. 

For this purpose, the corresponding work has been done with the communities operating in 138 countries and memoranda and agreements have been signed with 43 Pan-Armenian organizations. Trade networks were established in 21 countries. In addition, the creation of professional business structures continues in Diaspora communities.

According to the Minister of Diaspora, 26 programs have been implemented in the direction of 6 priority issues envisaged by the government program, the number of participants of which reached 7000 people.
