Speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım stated that Turkey is not conducting war against Syria, but fighting against terrorism, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

“Not solely Turkey, but also 62 other countries that are part of the international antiterrorism coalition, led by the US as well as Russia and Iran, are waging this fight in that country,” he said.

But Yıldırım stressed that “if any country starts a war against Turkey, it will get the appropriate response.”

The PM added that Turkey’s current military operation in Afrin, Syria, does not run counter to the “norms of international law.”
