YEREVAN. – World Congress in Information Technology (WCIT), to be held in Armenia, will be an opportunity to attract investments, president of the Union of the Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) Alexander Yesayan told reporters on Saturday.

According to him, WCIT-2019, took place in the Indian city of Hyderabad and was attended by the leaders of the world's largest companies.

“WCIT-2019 will be an opportunity for the country to show its potential in IT field and attract new investments,” said Alexander Yesayan.

The Armenian delegation, given the level of the Congress in India, realized how much work should be done to organize the event in Armenia, the head noted.

“Armenia can host such a huge number of participants and hold WCIT-2018 at a high level,” UITE Executive Director Karen Vardanyan assured.

Armenia became a member of the Alliance of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) in 2004. In 2014, UITE won the right to hold WCIT-2019 in Armenia.
