YEREVAN. – Armenia will expand the network of schools with advanced German-language teaching, the German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler said on Monday.

The sides discussed the development of the German language in Armenian schools, the ministry said in a statement

The Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Levon Mkrtchyan, noted that the Ministry attached great importance to the expert, methodological and practical assistance of interested international partners over the development of foreign languages in Armenia.

Kiesler, in his turn, presented German proposals on expanding the network of schools with advanced German-language teaching and Armenian-German educational cooperation.

Mkrtchyan highlighted the importance of teaching the German language in the secondary vocational institutions.

The sides also exchanged views over the scholarship programs of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
