ANTELIAS. – Upon the instruction by Catholicos Aram I of the Armenian Church Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia—in Antelias, Lebanon—of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Beroea, recently visited Deir Ezzor, Syria, to get on-hand information on the damage that was caused to the Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs and its complex in Deir Ezzor.

But first, Archbishop Sarkissian paid a visit to the Deir Ezzor governor and conveyed to him the greetings of Catholicos Aram I, the Catholicosate informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Upon his return, the prelate of the Diocese of Beroea reported to Aram I the details of his trip.

Once security is sustained in Syria, especially in Deir Ezzor, Catholicos Aram I will call on Armenians so that the aforesaid church, which was destroyed by Turkey, be restored with a national effort.

Aram I: Destroyed church in Deir ez-Zor will be restored
