YEREVAN. – The new Armenian government will include the prime minister, first deputy prime minister, two deputy heads of the cabinet and 17 ministers.

Minister of Justice David Harutyunyan presented the bill on the structure and activities of the government during the Armenian parliament’s session on Tuesday.

According to the bill, the government  is considered formed if, in addition to the Prime Minister, 2/3 of the cabinet ministers are also appointed. There are also cases when the prime minister must file a resignation, in particular, when he lost the citizenship of Armenia, acquired the

citizenship of another country or violated the incompatibility requirements provided by law.

“The situation with the resignation of the prime minister is coordinated, for example, when the head of the government does not present the required number of candidates for forming a cabinet within 5 days. There are provisions for holding government meetings, quorum, especially in crisis situations, for example, in the event of war. Since the cabinet meetings will be held behind closed doors, the provisions regarding the transparency of its activities are also envisaged,” he  said.
