The ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia has refuted the rumors about radiation leakage at the Armenian nuclear-power station.

"The Armenian nuclear power station is normally operating, and no emergency has been reported. Any radiation leakage is out of the question," Lusine Harutyunyan, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

On January 24, Turkish mass media reported that a survey to establish radiation leakage from the Armenian nuclear-power station started in Turkey`s borderline regions the same day.

Turkish media report that the Physics Department at Erzurum University started measuring radiation in Igdir, Mus, Tunceli, Sirnak. A lecturer said the measurements are necessary as more lung cancer cases have recently been reported.
