Armenian citizen Azat Martirossian, whom the US prosecutor’s office has charged with money laundering and bribery for Rolls-Royce, has urged an Ohio federal judge to toss this indictment.

He argued that US statutes expressly bar extraterritorial application of money laundering laws, according to Law 360.

Martirossian, 62, is Armenia’s former ambassador to China. He, together with Russian citizen Vitaly Leshkov, is charged with conspiracy and money laundering.
