In the first half of 2018, a total of 685,970 tourists visited Armenia, and this a 10.2-percent growth, as compared with the same period last year.

Artsvik Minasyan, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments, said the abovementioned at Monday’s press conference to sum up the results of the first 100 days of his tenure in this capacity.

In his words, a total of 610,900—or 7 percent more—people have left Armenia for tourism purposes.

“The number of tourists arriving in and departing from Armenia made up about 75 thousand people,” the minister noted. “Last year this indicator was 52 thousand.”

Minasyan added that a 17.1-percent growth was recorded in the country’s domestic tourism.
