YEREVAN.- It is surprising for me that Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that he undertakes political responsibility for all the detentions that will have political resonance, Armenian  second president Robert Kocharyan said on Wednesday.

"We are a member of the Council of Europe, and this will have consequences for Armenia. Should I now congratulate the people of Armenia on the fact that we have a new dictator? Did the revolution pursue this very goal? I strongly doubt it.

Our people should understand that the consequences of what has happened will have a negative impact on Armenia. The Prime Minister takes responsibility for the detention, but according to the Constitution, he has no right to do that. Thus, he not only grossly violates the Constitution, but also a number of laws. This is the breaching of constitutional order," Kocharyan said.
