YEREVAN. – Armenia’s governmental delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is in France on a working visit.

On Thursday evening in Paris, Pashinyan had a dinner with representatives of the Armenian community in France, the information and public relations department of the Prime Minister’s staff informed.

In his remarks at the event, the PM noted that the attendance of famous French Armenians to this dinner symbolizes the opportunities that have opened before Armenia today.

“Seeing those present, I want to believe that our country will not be at the backstage of modern politics, but it will assume its share of leadership,” he said, in particular. 

Subsequently, PM Pashinyan awarded French Armenian football legend Youri Djorkaeff with the Medal of Gratitude, and on the occasion of the forthcoming Independence Day anniversary of Armenia.

Djorkaeff, for his part, noted that it is a great honor for him to receive such an award, and added that he will wear it with honor and pride.

“I’m proud to be a representative of Armenia,” he said.
