YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan, who is also the Luys (Light) bloc’s candidate in Sunday’s snap election for the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders, is confident that he will be voted in as the next mayor of Yerevan.

“That unenthusiastic climate which was before is absent in these elections,” Zeynalyan told reporters before voting. “We [Luys bloc] have conducted our [election] campaign in a positive light. There should not be rejected in Armenia.

“There should be political disagreements, differences, (…) but there should not be enmity, conflict, as it was before.”

Also, Zeynalyan said it is apparent that the results of Sunday’s Yerevan municipal council voting can become a deciding factor ahead of the planned snap election for the National Assembly.
