Iran accused US President Donald Trump of politicizing OPEC, Iran’s representative to OPEC Hossein Kazempour Ardebili said in an interview to CNBC

According to him, the US administration intends to reduce oil prices to ensure its interests.

“If they kept quiet, the prices would be cheaper, I am confident about that. I am telling him (Trump), keep quiet, do not do any tweets, and then you will be better off in the prices,” he added.

According to Kazempour, he viewed Washington's increased political pressure on Iran and OPEC something which cannot be accepted.

The Iranian representative at OPEC  is in Algeria to take part in the 10th ministerial monitoring committee of OPEC +, where he plans to discuss the overall situation in the oil market and the countries' compliance with their obligations by the end of 2018, as well as a model for further cooperation in 2019.
