YEREVAN. – The voter turnout in Sunday’s snap election for the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders bespeaks a high activeness.  

Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia, Tigran Mukuchyan, noted about the above-said at a press conference on Monday.

He noted that even though voter turnout was somewhat low on Sunday morning, it increased considerably in the afternoon.

“As for public moods, they are solely political assessments,” Mukuchyan added.

As reported earlier, 43.65 percent of the eligible voters had cast their ballots in Sunday’s Yerevan city council election. To note, the voter turnout in the previous Yerevan city council voting was 40.99.

According to the preliminary results of Sunday’s snap election for the Yerevan Council of Elders, the My Step bloc garnered the most votes with 81.05 percent, the Prosperous Armenia Party came in second with 6.95 percent, and the Luys (Light) bloc was third with 4.99 percent.
