Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in New York as part of Armenia’s official delegation that will attend the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, on Monday met with foreign minister Khemaies Jhinaoui of Tunisia. They discussed several matters that are on their bilateral and multilateral agenda.

The interlocutors stressed their readiness to take steps toward making as much use as possible of the great potential that exists for invigorating bilateral political discourse.

The Armenian and Tunisian FMs conferred also on the 17th summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie, and which Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan will host in October.

Separately, FM Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict’s pacific resolution with the support of the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group. In this context, the Armenian minister noted that the attempts to transfer the respective talks to other platforms are undermining the international community’s efforts to establish stability and peace in the region.
